We are happy you chose us as your source for useful, edible, hard to find plants. We specialize in plant sales and educational services.

Our supporters are gardeners, ecologists, landowners, farmers, plant geeks, and anyone interested in creating a better world for all.

Services have included working with transition town groups, permaculture meetups, schools, individuals, non-profit organizations, and businesses to help them realize permaculture gardens, edible forest gardens, food forests, edible landscapes and learning opportunities in all these areas.

For a little history about our work. Jonathan Bates started this nursery after many years of learning with and being inspired by Eric Toensmeier of Perennial Vegetables fame.

Much of the plant stock for the nursery comes from the Holyoke Edible Forest Garden, a case study highlighted in the book Edible Forest Gardens, and Paradise Lot.
